“Growing in Grace”

Our church’s vision is “Growing in Grace.” This brief phrase illustrates well what we at Seville Presbyterian Church believe is core about faith in Christ and our calling to serve as disciples of Jesus:

“Growing”- Faith in Christ is the continual unfolding of new experiences of God’s grace, peace and love. We are never finished in our faith, and we are continually led to worship, study and serve in new and transformative ways. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3: 22-23

“In”- Faith is an intimate and personal bond with God in Christ and within a community of fellow believers as “the Body of Christ.” We don’t have to wait to experience a deep bond of love, God is with us now. “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

“Grace”- God's grace is a gift, often described with terms like “undeserved” or “unmerited favor.” God doesn't keep score by counting our successes and failures to determine who receives love or life. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2: 13
